Ann Curry

Ann Curry is an American photographer and journalist who has worked as a journalist for more than 45 years, focusing on people suffering from conflict zones as well as natural disasters. Curry was a reporter in war zones like Kosovo Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo. Ann Curry was an American journalist, reporter for the TV news and host best recognized as a correspondent on the Today program which is a morning-time broadcast newscast on NBC. Curry was well-known for her reporting on catastrophes caused by natural causes and humanitarian crises that occurred within war-torn areas. Curry has a father who was an U.S. Navy sailor and a Japanese woman. Her mother was living alongside her father in Japan following World War II. Family members were constantly in and out of the country due to the service of her dad in the military. Curry went to High School in Ashland Oregon. In 1978 she graduated at in the University of Oregon with a bachelor's degree in journalism. She was exposed to a variety of cultures and experiences during her upbringing likely influenced her empathetic approach to communicating about issues of international significance. Curry moved around a lot along with her companion, and did not attend a school for longer than two years. She attended schools located in San Diego Alameda Oregon Virginia. Ashland was the place where Curry graduated. As an intern at KTVL Channel 10 Medford, Oregan, she began her journey in broadcasting. She became the first woman news reporter for the station when she aged 22. Then she was promoted to reporting and anchoring at KGW, an NBC-affiliated station in Portland. After four years, she relocating to Los Angeles as a reporter for KBS-TV. She won 2 Emmy Awards during the six years she spent with this station.
